Recurring items

Put milk on autopilot — recurring items come back every trip, every month, or on your schedule.

Updated July 18, 2026

Some things end up on the list every single week. Recurring items add themselves so you don't have to remember.

Make an item recurring

  1. Tap the item, then tap the pencil to edit it.
  2. Turn on Recurring Item and pick a schedule:
  • After each trip — the item returns as soon as a shopping trip ends.
  • Monthly — the item returns about a month after it was last checked off.
  • Custom — pick any number of days.
  1. Done. When the time comes, the item quietly reappears on the list, and its details show the repeat schedule.

How it behaves

  • Checking off a recurring item completes it for this trip; the schedule decides when it comes back.
  • Removing a recurring item takes it off the list for now — the schedule will still bring it back. To stop it for good, turn off Recurring Item in the item's editor.
  • Recurring items sync to everyone on the list, and anyone on the list can edit the schedule.
